The uppers are made from an abrasion-resistant waterproof leather that makes this boot rugged and durable. The women's versions is built using a women's specific last making it a great fit and more than just a men's boot labelled for women.

The Switchback has a composite safety toe, giving it the benefit of being lightweight. The composite toe allows you to keep your toes warm during those cold winter months. With the addition of a fiberglass shank, you can make it through a metal detector without having to take your boots off.

The Switchback meets the Mark II OW #3 on American Olean tile at .43. In layman's terms, that means that it will be slip resistant for most oily/wet surfaces (ALTHOUGH NOTHING IS PERFECT!).

The Switchback meets the ASTM F1671-07 standard. It contains a breathable membrane that protects from diseases caused by blood-borne pathogens.
